This course spans a total of 8 hours, organized into two 4-hour sessions.

 

The price for the entire course is £350.

This course has been designed for expectant mothers, whether with or without the presence of their birth partners. Birth partners are more than welcome to join the course, and they will definitely benefit immensely.

The title required to teach these classes is only accredited to midwives, with additional studies in Aqua Natal. As a midwife, I learned a lot from doing this course, and I’m sure you, as a pregnant woman, will love it.

The program is structured into 10 sessions, focusing primarily on 8 muscle groups crucial for the dilation and second stage of birth. Here’s a breakdown of the sessions:

2 sessions of aerobic exercises: Aimed at improving overall physical condition.
2 sessions of strength training: Designed to enhance the strength of muscles crucial during birth.
2 sessions of flexibility exercises: Intended to teach the opening of different parts of the pelvis at
each stage of birth for smoother progress.
2 sessions of breathing exercises.
2 sessions for reviewing and practicing different exercises from previous sessions.

In the first session, our focus will be on the inlet pelvis, especially important for the dilation phase (first stage of birth). In the second session, we’ll concentrate on the muscles involved in the second stage of birth.

You can join the program at any point since the sessions will be repeated cyclically. 

Although aqua natal exercises are perfect and gentle during pregnancy, we recommend joining the program after your 12-week gestational scan. From that point on, you are welcome to join us at any time you wish.

Low-Impact Exercise: Aqua natal exercises provide a low-impact workout, reducing strain on joints and minimizing the risk of injuries during pregnancy.

Buoyancy Support: The buoyancy of water supports the weight of the pregnant body, offering relief from the increased pressure on joints, spine, and pelvic floor. WATER REDUCES BODY WEIGHT BY 50%!

Reduced Swelling: Immersion in water helps alleviate swelling in the ankles and feet, a common issue during pregnancy, by promoting better blood circulation.

Improved Circulation: Aqua natal exercises enhance blood flow, aiding in the prevention of varicose veins and contributing to overall cardiovascular health for both mother and baby.

Core Strength: Water resistance engages the core muscles, promoting better posture and stability, which is crucial as the body undergoes changes to accommodate the growing baby.

Temperature Regulation: The water’s coolness helps regulate body temperature, preventing overheating during exercise, which is particularly important for pregnant women.

Stress Relief: The soothing nature of water, combined with gentle movements, can help reduce stress and promote relaxation, contributing to a positive mental state during pregnancy.

Enhanced Flexibility: Aqua natal exercises encourage gentle stretching, improving flexibility and easing muscle tension, providing relief from common pregnancy discomforts.

Pelvic Floor Health: Targeted exercises in water can strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, reducing the risk of incontinence issues both during and after pregnancy.

Social Support: Participating in aqua natal classes provides an opportunity for pregnant individuals to connect with others, fostering a supportive community where experiences and advice can be shared.

All you need to bring is your swimsuit, water bottle and towel.

The session is 1 hour.

Physical fitness is not a prerequisite, and if you have any specific conditions that might be affected by physical exercise, please consult your healthcare provider to determine if this program is suitable for you.
